Welcome to the conversation!

Welcome to the new Cobb Gathering, an Emergent Cohort!

“If you come to the table of conversation needing to be right, true conversation can’t happen.” Wendell Berry

If you have visited before and are looking for what the discussion topic is at this month’s “Hub Gathering” (2nd Tuesday of each month), click the “Center Topic” tab at the top of this page. Also check our “Spoke Gathering” tab to see what’s going on the rest of the month. If you are a first time visitor, read on…

Our dream is for friendships and partnerships to form as we gather to help one another understand and engage the emerging postmodern, post-denominational, post-Christian culture. We want to provide a “suspended space” where we can wrestle, reflect, and ask  honest questions. We want to dialogue over how our beliefs can help us work together to make a difference in transforming lives, communities and the world.  We are all “seekers”, and whether you’re in the church and things just don’t seem to make sense, you’ve left the church, never been in church, or you are just curious about how Jesus might relate to your passions and desires, you’re welcome to journey with us on this adventure!

We are a newly formed Emergent Cohort in the northwest suburbs of Atlanta: Cobb County, GA (Marietta, Kennesaw, Smyrna, Powder Springs, Acworth, Austell) and we want to be an “on ramp” into the Emergent Church Conversation! We meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 7 pm to 9 pm – that will be our monthly main Hub Gathering. Our official meeting place is Johnnie MacCracken’s Celtic Firehouse Pub right off the Marietta Square (map). Come early for some GREAT Irish food! Be sure to check our other pages and links! In addition to the Hub Gathering, be sure to check out the Spoke Gatherings as they develop – these will be ways to dig deeper and form friendships!

We look forward to the conversation!

Looking forward to attending. The forty-five minute trip to the Atlanta Cohort was a bit brutal for us.
